The Revisiting

When they do come

Fear will demand that you quiver

But the test of time

Is a revisiting

To be welcomed with the same answer

Should you steer yourself

To familiar encounters

Do not show them a glass heart

But one of concrete

That would be passed by

And if the ones we have trusted

Should take us to that place

A place of revisiting

Shall we calmly remember our prayers

That we recited in our somber undoing

These lines remind me that we all too often ask for what we don’t need and saddest of all, we fail to ask when we most need to do so…
