Hunter

When shall he surrender

And his two hands,

When shall they pelt pebbles

At himself, at his shadow

Desperation rattles the autumn leaves

Hot pursuit unleashes desire

And patience hides in between his heavy breaths

When shall he surrender

And his two hands,

When shall they pelt pebbles

At himself, at his shadow

Wide eyes tell of close calls

Numb hands are the timekeeper

Hold still, hold on, hold long

When shall he surrender

And his two hands,

When shall they pelt pebbles

At himself, at his shadow

His cries of frustration

How he cries out in silence

But you see and feel the ache and the lump he swallows down

When shall he surrender

And his two hands,

When shall they pelt pebbles

At himself, at his shadow

When shall we all call ourselves hunters

Seasoned optimists, who chase wild

Fall, vex and pick up the pieces?

      1. I’m having some issues with it. It seems as if I am going to use another e mail address instead of linking to it from inside this one. I have a few things written and ready to post so if I can work my way through the snags it should be ready by this time next week. There will be three pages; one on religious topics, one on my personal opinions about different topics and one dedicated to politics….
