The Murals Are Crying

The murals are crying

And I wish I could give them new words

Ballads turned elegies,

And it’s in the air, how their kinship erred

And it’s despair that hums the dirge

Who but the walls to give comfort

And oh the humiliation,

That we watch them haul their cart of mistakes

In depths of desperation

The murals have lost the plot

What’s not to see,

What’s not to feel,

The murals are crying

Prisoners left to their doom

In the foyer.
