Red Flags

The ocean,

Strewn with red flags

Tells of hazy years

That clasped onto a fatigued heart

On her oars she had rowed

Across the treading waters

His deceptive tongue

Steered her to looming tides

But row, she continued

With hope, forlorn

Till the doomed boat

Soon seeped with water

And the ocean found her nape

Like his hands had found her neck

As she desperately tried to breathe

Begging the waters,

Like her eyes had pleaded with him.

Till the red flags ushered her passing.
