The Sinner’s Prayer

The sinner prayed,

A prayer for temporary satisfactions

He was of the world

In a traffic jam  to eternity

His sinful nature, a recurrent cycle.

Then the sinner prayed again

This time a different prayer

With a heart of complete repentance

Born again, made a new creation

Realizing, that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life .

**John 14:6**

  1. Maybe you you won’t like my comment but as a friend and fellow blogger, here goes… That sinners’s prayer doesn’t bring salvation, or the new birth, as it is sometimes called. Baptism for the remittance of sins is the only thing that can save one. Acts 2 :38 Acts 22 :16 1 Peter 3 :20-21 Mark 16 :16 are some of the key verses one must study to understand that. The Bible is very clear on the subject of baptism and there is nothing in the Bible that supports saying the sinner’s prayer in order to be saved.
There is much to be said here but a deep study of the Bible is much better than comments on our blogs. I hope I haven’t offended you but I felt it necessary to reply to this post.

  2. Yes. I agree with you completely. Maybe the line about “…born again, made a new creation” brought your mind here. The sinner’s prayer is more of being on the path to salvation. Romans 10:9 and Acts 16:31 talk about believing in your heart that Christ is Lord, and that that you will be saved. The first step I think, is to have that faith when you believe and then baptism comes in. Feel free to comment. I won’t be offended. We are learning here.
