WINGS (Life of a refugee)

Life is unstable

Call me crazy,

But I only want to disappear

Grow wings and soar forever

Out of this foreign land

Breathing is laboured

With every move, uncertain

I only wish to disappear

Fly like a bird, and fly with dignity

Out of hostility, my wings will save me.

Loyalty is a game of dice

Watching as my friend waved me from the boat.

In my seat he was, and I stood betrayed.

Another restless night on a cold stoned floor

If only a dime could grow me a set of wings.

Life is a nightmare

I am unwanted, a liability

I only want to disappear

Spread out my wings, fly to the sky

And have her cradle me among her stars.

  1. This is my opinion only….You are only crazy if your life is “stable.” A little instability is necessary to keep one moving towards something more. Have you ever noticed that stagnant water is also stable, or if you prefer, still or stationary? And we all want to fly away at times…
